be addressing for some time. In early January, it was discovered that 34 Air Force officers have cheated on their proficiency tests. The accused represent about 20 percent of the missile officers stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base. This incidence is the largest cheating scandal in the missile force to date, according to General Mark Welsh III.

Secretary James’ goal is to reestablish the trust of the American people in the missile force again. This will not be an easy feat and will consistently be a top priority, according to Defense Secretary-Chuck Hagel. There is much confidence in James, as she is described as “thoughtful, swift, and decisive”. Deborah James has said she wants to leave the Air Force on an upward trajectory and keep in mind, always, those who support and make all the missions possible.
