CORNER
A
good friend sent me a link to Mahima’s website and was raving
about her! I must say I was highly skeptical but also very intrigued
to learn more about her, as I did see massive positive changes in
my friend’s attitude since meeting this Mahima person! My friend who’s
name I won’t mention here had been battling with depression after
loosing her dream job. In addition to that drama she had just broken
up with her long time boyfriend whom she dearly loved and who left her
for a younger woman. I was curious about this lady that had taken my
friend from the depth of despair to bubbling with quiet optimism, selfrespect and confidence!
Mahima is a spiritual teacher of this
new millennium tuning into the needs
of people who are ready to embrace
that there is more to life than living in
fear. Fear of God, fear of failure, fear
of dying, fear of not being loved, fear
which can grip your soul and prevent
you from knowing real peace and
happiness. For those who are ready
to discover joyful living, the message
of living life in the present is the key
to transforming their lives and finding
a daily sense of peace and gratitude.
On entering Mahima’s elegant and
vibrant space where she works, it was
clear that behind this soft spoken,
childlike and beautiful woman, there
was also a very powerful presence
and seriously wise soul, this made the
hairs on the back of my neck stand
when she looked into my eyes and
even before she spoke I knew my
skepticism was already melting away!
Looking into those clear sparkling
eyes, I could feel that this lady was
definitely connected to something
divine.
I asked her how she could be peaceful,
when there is so much suffering? Just
look at all the conflicts around the
world, the corruption, the greed and
wars! Her answer fascinated me.
“Of course I see all the suffering
and sadness, I feel it even without
switching on my TV or reading a
newspaper! But do you think that
more sadness will help these people
or change what’s going on? Negative
emotions drain energy and add more
suffering into the world. Rather drop
the sadness, fear and negativity in
you. This will give you the energy to
act and feel inspired and motivated
to help in anyway you can. Rather
learn how to cultivate and harness a
positive state of mind and vibrate on a
positive energy frequency.

The world needs more peace, love,
joy, tolerance and positivity in it. If we
focus our awareness on these kind of
emotions we will be doing the world
and everyone in it a great favour!
Especially those people that have to
deal with us on a daily basis. Start by
being the change you want to see in
the world. It is that simple. The beauty
is in the simplicity. As you look to
still your mind and connect to inner
peace, keep it simple and the way
will be clear. All the knowledge of the
most ancient texts of enlightenment
are already written there, inside
your heart. The secret is to abandon
the belief that it takes time, or that
it is impossible to achieve lasting
happiness. Real freedom can only
ever be experienced in the now and
every moment is a new opportunity
to let go of the mind and our personal
suffering. The only thing we are truly
responsible for is our own happiness
and peace of mind. If we take care
of that responsibility, everything else
takes care of itself. As if by magic!”
Mahima
After that initial consultation I have
gone back to meditate with Mahima
in private sessions, silent retreats and
group meditations. Connecting to that
inner peace and joy that becomes
available to us when we allow
ourselves to just be here and now
and is becoming easier every day. If
anyone would have told me one year
ago that I would be writing this article
and feeling the way I do right now
(really content and peaceful) I would
have laughed in disbelief!
