The Battle At Fiddler ’ s Green

The Battle At Fiddler ’ s Green

Chris , of the Jacksonville native and officer of the Confederacy , Col . Samuel H . Lockett .
In fact , several parts of the home are from the Lockett house , like the baseboards and a fireplace hearth . Antique furniture from as far back as the 1700s , all collected over the years from various sources . As Heather works on dinner in the kitchen , she points out a few cleverly hidden modern amenities , like a dishwasher camouflaged as what appears to be a cupboard .
On Sunday morning , a sermon will be given in perioddress by a local pastor , and then the second battle will be underway . Usually the side who lost on Saturday wins on Sunday . The Dempseys see it as only fair , a respectful measure to remember that everyone who died in the Civil War was , at their core , an American .
“ We do this to honor them and what they did , and if someone from Massachusetts comes here to honor their soldiers , we ’ re all about that too ,” says Chris . “ It ’ s America , and it ’ s about honoring both sides .” •
