Indiana MoneyWise Back to School | Page 2

Dear Hoosiers,

Thank you for reading the Indiana Secretary of State’s first-ever e-magazine. The purpose of the e-magazine is to provide Hoosiers with timely tips and information on smart money management skills and how to be financially fit.

As Secretary of State, I am dedicated to improving the level of financial literacy for Hoosiers of all ages. Did you know that 41% of U.S. adults, or more than 92 million people living in America, gave themselves a grade of C, D or F on their knowledge of personal finance? We hope that through this e-magazine and our Indiana Money Wise program, my office with give Hoosiers the skills they need to give themselves an A.

This month, we are focusing on staying on budget when going back to school. This time of year can be expensive for parents and students. However, with the proper planning, it’s possible to get everything you need for a successful school year and stay within your allotted budget.

I hope the information included is helpful in making those decisions.

Thank you again for reading our e-magazine. Look for future editions on topics such as finances for newly married couples, investment fraud and holiday budgeting.

Sincerely,

Connie Lawson

Indiana Secretary of State
