Larry Taylor and Bonni McKeown decided to change that with a screen adaptation of their 2010 book, Stepson of The Blues (Peaceful Patriot Press). The movie The Rhythm and The Blues, set on the West Side and starring the actor Leon, will highlight the story of legendary blues died in 1985. His wife, Vera Taylor, was also a blues singer who often performed with him and all eight of their children developed into musicians. The Rhythm and The Blues tells the story of Eddie Taylor's frustration with being cast in Jimmy Reed's shadow and Larry Taylor's struggle to gain recognition from his father as he battles to become a blues musician in his own right, while fighting against the forces of racism and poverty.
