2015. 2.1
13 students from
University of Minnesota were with us
from the end of
2014 for their Global
Seminar “Ritual and
Resilience in Japan”.
They spent 3 weeks
in Tokyo with over
night trips to Tohoku
and Kyoto to learn
how resilience is
integrated, practiced
and promoted in
Japanese culture.
The picture is from
the day they visited
the Meiji Jingu
Shrine on the coming of age day!
We had 14 students from Wofford College, South Carolina for
their 2 weeks-long interim
course “Studying Japan’s History, Government and Culture”.
The students took Japanese
language classes, stayed with
Japanese families during their
time in Tokyo as well as lots of
field trips in the city. They also
traveled to western Japan, Kyoto, Nara, and Hiroshima for the
second half of the program for
more cultural experiences.
The picture is from the lunch
gathering with the students
from Kanda University of International Studies. They both enjoyed talking to each other who
were in same age as they were
and shared the differences between Japanese and American
students life.
