Rainbows and Brownies
from Dunmow & Thaxted
District took part in the
Dunmow Carnival.
The theme this year was
Capital Cities. We had a
mixture of London, Paris,
New York and Honolulu.
It was a brilliant day and
the sun shone. Hundreds
turned out to watch and the
group came 2nd in the Youth
walking category.
May we take
this oppotunity to
wish everyone in
the County
a Very
Merry Christmas
and a
Happy New Year

WINTER 2015
Message from the new County Commissioner:
t 2010 hrs on 20th October 2010 (20:10 2010 2010) the finale of all the
Centenary celebrations for Girlguiding took place, the end of a lot of hard
work, by a lot of people to give us all something special to remember. It was
also a time of change for Girlguiding Essex West.
As we let off the fireworks for our Centenary finale, we said a huge thank you to
Linda Taylor for all her hard work as her term as County Commissioner came to an
end.
We then welcomed Jan Knight as she took over that role.
It’s hard to believe that was five years ago.
On 20th October 2015 (2010 2010 2015) Jan completed her term of office as
County Commissioner and at County Members’ Day we said thank you to Jan and
her team - Ann Matthews (Assistant County Commissioner) and Avril Brampton
(County President).
I finished as Assistant County Commissioner along with Ann; however, many of
you were kind enough to nominate me as your new County Commissioner. So here I
am. I now have pleasure in welcoming my Team and thanking them for agreeing to
work with me to take the County forward for the next five years until 20:10 2010 2020

There are many more people behind the scenes that make our County as strong
and successful as it is, but there are far too many to mention here. However, I would
like to say an enormous thank you to each and every one of you for the work you do
within Girlguiding Essex West. Together we make an awesome TEAM.
I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the next few months
and I promise that I will visit every Division in the not too distant future.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
A
Chris Skinner, County Commissioner
