Rosie Spencer spent the weekend with Senior Section girls and Guiders at the Grangewaters Outdoor Centre in Ockendon and was presented with a host of challenges to start her grand tour of Counties in the Anglia Region. On the Sunday, after a quick change and light lunch at Went House, the County Office, Rosie was collected in a vintage car and taken to meet other members of the County Exec for an even more memorable list of challenges. These included taking the controls of a light aircraft (yes, really) and a Model T Ford, crank starting a vintage car and being driven in a 1925 motorcycle combination! After a very hectic series of challenges it was time for a relaxing tea and cakes in the historic barn at Barnards Farm when Rosie distributed the first of the County Centenary engraved pens to members and guests, who included Angela Smith Secretary of State for Charities. More photographs from the County Launch party, and many others from around the County are inside this issue. We haven’t included any words about each party but used all the space we can for pictures.
