2ND INTERNATIONAL
MINING MYANMAR CONFERENCE
14th and 15th October
Myanmar Convention Centre, Yangon
Myanmar is now seeing real and significant
transformations to its politics and economy
and is making the reforms necessary to open
up the country to the world; including in
relation to its mining law and environment
for new mining investment. To coincide with
this positive trend, the second International
Mining Myanmar Conference, hosted by the
Myanmar Federation of Mining Association
(MFMA), will be held on 14th/15th October
2016 at the Myanmar Convention Centre,
Yangon. The conference will run during the
Mining Myanmar 2016 exhibition at the same
venue, organised by our partners BES and
Allworld Exhibitions.
Momentum in the country is again building
and there have been a couple of new
Exploration Licences issued to foreign
companies so there is growing interest and
investor confidence. The government is also
in the process of drafting a new Mining Law
which is expected to be much more investor
friendly; and is due to be finalised by
April/May, so the October conference will be
an ideal opportunity to find out the latest
news on this as well as progress with
existing projects.
The conference
will again last a
day and a
half and will
focus on three
main areas –
government,
legislation and
development
potential; existing projects and
mines; and
technology, equipment and contractors.
We are seeking good quality presentations
in all three of these areas. Interested
potential speakers should send a short
abstract of 100 words to Paul Moore
[email protected] or John Chadwick
[email protected]; and there are also
sponsorship opportunities associated with
the conference.
See www.im-mining.com for registration
and updates on the conference program.
