Isaiah Williams
Takes NFL Nutrition to the Next Level
W
hen wide receiver Isaiah Williams entered the NFL in
2009, he was more concerned with his 40-yard dash
time and number of receptions instead of what he was eating
for dinner. During his first few seasons, nutrition often took a
back seat to his training, as he grabbed burgers and fries with
friends or chowed down on his mother’s delicious cornbread
when he was at home in New Jersey. After a few years in the
league, he became more conscious about food sources and
decided to eliminate most of the processed foods from his
diet. Switching to a healthier, whole foods regimen also led
to his search for cleaner protein.
“I discovered that protein from animal sources is often
loaded with antibiotics and hormones,” he said. “I was
researching cleaner, vegan sources of protein and saw that
Garden of Life® had one that was plant based. I started using
RAW Protein and RAW Meal in 2010, and I’ve been taking
them ever since.”
Currently in training camp with the Tennessee Titans,
Isaiah starts each day with a RAW Meal shake or smoothie.
No matter how rigorous his day gets with practices and
games, starting the day off with RAW Meal ensures that he
never feels hungry.
“It’s hard to find good breakfast choices that have all
the nutrients you need,” he said. “I like RAW Meal not only
because of the protein, but also because of the fiber, live
probiotics and enzymes that I get in every serving. During
the season, I drink it once or twice a day.”
Isaiah’s entire family made the switch to healthier foods
long ago to benefit the household’s elite athletes. His father,
