ExploR-III is the latest addition to the Lincoln County R-III District’s methods of connecting and communicating with parents, students and community members. This magazine is a joint effort between our district and the Lincoln County Journal. Due to the beautiful and professional nature of the magazine, I know it will be natural for people to question whether or not tax dollars were used to produce this magazine. I can assure you with confidence that no school district tax dollars were spent on the production of this magazine. The magazine, appropriately titled, was named by one of our elementary school teachers. As the 26th largest district with the largest middle school in the State of Missouri, there is certainly plenty to “explore” about our schools, our programs, our services and most importantly, our students. Our dedicated faculty, staff and hardworking students made generating the content for the magazine easy, but forced difficult decisions when it came time to determine what we would feature. When you begin to “explore” R-III, I think you’ll find there’s much more to our district than you may have ever known. Whether you are new to the district or a lifelong resident, there’s always something to learn about our efforts to educate 6,300+ prekindergarten to 12th grade students and our journey to becoming the PREMIER school district in the State of Missouri. I might be partial, but there’s so much our community can be proud of with the R-III District. While ExploR-III will be an annual publication, I invite you to “explore” our schools and all we have to offer the community throughout the year via our district website, Facebook page, YouTube channel, or through my semi-monthly column in the Lincoln County Journal, “Penny’s Two Cents.” Yours in education, On the Cover, Middle School Science Teacher, Myron Daw Photo By: Lexi Daw With a Little Help From our Friends Service in our Community Digging into Reading Around the world across the Content Building Bridges Across Language Barriers 1 3 6 7 9 10 12 13 14 16 17 18 20 22 23 24 27 28 30 32 34 Though we may have changed our look over time, Jim Trenary Chevrolet of Troy Missouri holds true to one thing Down Sizing a Super Sized School ¿Puedes hablar espanol?
