LC Trieste was chosen for the second
time as the EESTEC Summer School
of?cial host. The event was about
Android development and open data,
divided into two schedules, development and design of Android applications. There were 21 EESTEC participants from 11 countries, 2 amazing
EESTEC trainers and also local participants. This second edition was just
amazing thanks to all participants,
speakers, organizers and partners!
From Monday to Thursday, during the
morning the participants took part in
Android seminars and lectures held
by experts and professionals in that
?eld. In the afternoon they applied the
knowledge acquired during the morning. Divided in groups, they shared
ideas and opinions.
On Friday, the participants created wireframes of applications useful
for the citizens. There was a closing
ceremony where a selected commission evaluated their ideas and jobs. At
the beginning there were nine groups
of ?ve persons for each group. In the
end, the selected commission chose
5 groups and awarded prizes to them.
The prizes were: “Best presentation”
to FunFinder team, “Best Project” to
No Se Pol! team, “Best Design” to
Maygic team, “Best Original Idea”
to Greetalian Lab team, “Best useful
project” to 7AM team.
This has been done with only 2 or 3
hours of sleeping because of crazy
nights in Trieste! We had Trieste sightseeing, city rally and of course, we
have been part of Trieste’s movida.
We’ll never forget the International
Night on Friday: lots of amazing food
and drinks from each country, lots of
music, lots of laugh and swimming

into the Trieste’s sea until late night
(or maybe we have to say “until early
morning”)!
But it’s not ?nished. There is a second phase of the event where each
team has to develop its application by
December 2013 when there will be
the awards ceremony. We can’t wait
to ?nd out who is the winner!
