TR A NSP OR TATI ON UP DAT E 2013 Construction 2013 will be the busiest construction year ever for the Lake County Division of Transportation. Investment Five-Year Plan The Lake County Board is committed to investing in our transportation infrastructure dedicating 100% of the ΒΌ percent sales tax to improving transportation. County Board will invest $557 million toward transportation. Construction to improve the Motorists who encounter heavy Road and IL Route 176 will begin in 2013. It includes additional thru lanes at the intersection, as well as turn lanes. intersection of Rollins Road and IL Route 83 will see a big improvement soon. Construction of a project to create an overpass for the CN Railroad and to relocate Hainesville Road further to the west is expected to begin this year. 100 Years Adopt A Highway In 2013, the Lake County Division of Transportation will celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Lake County Division of Transportation. The Lake County Board supports building the IL Route 53 extension (from Lake Cook Road to Route 120). The move forward with an Illinois Route 53/120 Corridor project in Lake County. The Tollway Board's Strategic Planning Committee reviewed the council's report and determined the Tollway should participate in future steps toward project development, including a corridor land use plan and developing engineering details.
