ANNUAL REPORT
Our sincerest thanks and gratitude to all of our museum
family members for your generous support of the Museum
this past year. The Columbia Museum of Art wouldn’t be
the cultural gem it is today without the support and tireless
dedication from our community members, Board of Trustees,
staff, volunteers, visitors and fans. The Museum enjoyed
another successful year, by bringing to South Carolina
exhibitions such as Innovation & Change: Great Ceramics;
Imperial Splendor: Renaissance Tapestries from Vienna; I Heard
a Voice: The Art of Lesley Dill; Who Shot Rock & Roll: A
Photographic History, 1955 to the Present; and most recently,
An Artist’s Eye: A Journey through Modern & Contemporary
Art with Sigmund Abeles. Through your participation in so
many different ways, you helped provide us with the resources
and ideas to achieve our goals and continue our momentum.
Because of you, we can celebrate many artistic successes,
educational outreach, and stable financial management.
The Museum’s place in the community and the state is
stronger than ever, attracting visitors from all 50 states and
36 countries worldwide. In difficult economic times, vibrant
support from the community makes all the difference. The
Museum Board of Trustees is a diverse, dynamic group
and continues its important work to the Museum through
leadership and financial support. It is also time to thank the
museum staff for their energetic commitment to excellence.
