Practitioners Leadership
Institute
Building from CFUF’s 10-year history of providing subject
matter expertise and training to community and agency based
practitioners devoted to strengthening urban communities
through work with low-income fathers and families, CFUF formally
established the Practitioners’ Leadership Institute (PLI). PLI is
designed to build the capacity of and serve as a replication model
for community and faith based organizations, government agencies
and other institutions to successfully structure, implement, and
manage high-quality programs and better serve low-income fathers
and families. The NPLI works to promote excellence in the
human services
industry by
providing
customized
technical
assistance and
training for new,
emerging and
established programs.
Additionally, PLI works
to promote the larger
development and
forward advancement
of the human services field by fostering
diverse venues for peer learning and establishing a broadened
network of grassroots family strengthening organizations dedicated
to providing quality services in responsible fatherhood, workforce
development, and healthy relationships and marriage.
Organizations served by PLI are provided the invaluable opportunity
to:
• Access information on best practices, tools and strategies for
program success;
• Connect with like-minded organizations and trailblazers in the
field through a structured peer-learning community; and,
• Build organizational strength through hands-on mentorship and
coaching provided by a team of seasoned practitioners.

HELPING FATHERS AND FAMILES WORK
Since our founding in 1999, CFUF has remained
at the front-line of addressing some of our city’s
most pressing issues: poverty, unemployment,
father-absence and family disintegration. Central
to CFUF’s mission is the belief that men—the
most disconnected and underserved citizens in
urban communities—who connect with women,
their children, and the workplace are key to the
restoration of stability and optimism. Consistent
with this mission, our organizational goal is to assist
individuals in regaining the personal power needed
to benefit their families and communities.
