Slovakia took back-to-back penalties five minutes into the second period and Tomcikova was forced to make a tremendous glove save, garnering a standing ovation from Sovak fans.

With the ice tilited in Tomcikova's direction halfway through the game, Winberg walked in from the sideboards untouched and roofed the puck into the top corner for her second goal of the game, giving her team its first two-goal lead at 9:07.

The score remained 4-2 after the end of the 2nd period with Sweden outshooting Slovakia 28-12.

3rd Period:

After another tripping penalty by the Slovaks Sweden took a more commanding 5-2 lead on a power play goal at 6:08 from Elin Holmlov, Sweden's 35th shot of the game.

Winberg's third goal of the game at 13:20 all but sealed the victory for Sweden, who outshot Slovakia 48-16.
