Q .

How did the band form and how did the band evolve into such a unique style ? Sally : The band kinda formed when me and Chad started dating . We started writing songs and jamming around the kitchen table . There was so much chemistry when we played and wrote together that we couldn ’ t ignore it . Chad grew up with more rock , and my siblings and me grew up playing Bob Wills and Roy Rogers ’ songs in the stockyards every week . So I guess this is what you get when you mix those two together !

Q .

How would you classify the music of GLP ?

Brook : I would describe our music as ... different . It ’ s eclectic , acoustic , folky , jazz-grass , a little rock , southern , tangy , sweet and sultry . There isn ’ t really a genre that contains all of those qualities . However , I have a personal sweet spot for Folk / Rock , and Americana is another genre that seems to fit .

Q .

What can we expect from the new Album ?
Chad : The new album is to be released this summer , 2013 . It is a very diverse record , we have been together playing since December 2012 , so our sound is still developing everyday . The album ( The Lights Came On ) has four different lead vocalists , and six different writers , so the sound from track to track can be slightly different to drastically different . We are extremely excited about the overall sound and uniqueness it offers . Pat Manske ( chief sound engineer for The Zone Studio ) has done a great job co-producing the album and bringing it to life .
Brook : He [ Pat Manske ] urges us to strive for the best take . I ’ m very excited about the new album . I think that it ’ s going to an epic testament to all of the hard work that we have each been pouring into this band , our music , and the project in general . I feel that the finished album is going to be something of which we can all be proud .
