LCSD - Nearing the End of
Another Successful Year
The 2014-2015 school year is almost over. It goes without saying, this year will be remembered as probably the most
challenging many of us have ever faced. In talking with superintendents around the state, other districts share the same frustrations. However, in listening to colleagues, it makes me very
proud as superintendent to see how well we have handled
tough situations. As I have said many times, our success can
easily be attributed to quality teachers, administrators, assisRandy Hodges, Superintendent
tants, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, and all other support personnel.
The challenges faced this year have affected everyone. Thank you for being a team
player.
Congratulations to Mrs. Cindy Shirley, Lauderdale County School District
Teacher of the Year, and Mr. Kevin Cheatham, Lauderdale County School District
Administrator of the Year. Both were honored at a luncheon in Jackson this past
week. It was a proud day for our district. Both individuals are true examples of the
ideals we represent. Their dedication and passion is inspiring. Again, congratulations on this honor and thank you for representing our district so well.
Spring sports are underway! As we enter the playoff rounds, Lauderdale
County School District is in the thick of the competition. Congratulations to all the
players and coaches for your hard work. I wish all you continued success in the coming weeks.
