6 Oncology Nursing Society National Conferences CHANGE TO A UNIFYING MODEL In past years, ONS has held our internationally regarded annual Congress as well as a variety of smaller national conferences, including the former Institutes of Learning, Advanced Practice Nursing Conference, Connections: Advancing Care Through Science, and the National Conference on Cancer Nursing Research. In order to focus resources on a singular event that provides greater membership engagement, ONS decided in 2013 to hold one unifying national conference through its trusted platform, the annual Congress, which will begin transitioning to its new format. “ This change will enable ONS to focus resources to provide a singular event that allows for greater member engagement and value and provides a platform to bring all oncology nurses together for enhanced collaboration,” said ONS president Mary Gullatte, PhD, RN, ANP, BC, AOCN®, FAAN. ONS Website By delivering content that appeals to all levels and specialties, the conference will unite our membership in practice, education, and research, helping them to translate science to patient care. ONS.org unveiled a fresh new look in 2013. While work continues to build the new website from the ground up, several improvements were introduced. • The new ONS profile account allows members to access a brand-new control panel to manage all of their ONS account information and demographics. • Books can be purchased directly from the website. • Nurses can join and renew their membership.
