David Warren Featured Consignor D Philatelic Collector & Exhibitor avid was born in England and started collecting Great Britain stamps in the early 1960’s, collecting anything he could afford. David moved to Canada in 1981 and joined the Calgary Philatelic Society and the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada. He was introduced to British West Indies stamps by Fitz Roett a well-known collector of Barbados and member at the local club. He encouraged David to join the British West Indies Study Circle and the British Caribbean Philatelic Study Group. During the 1990’s David developed a general collection of BWI and then became interested in how their stamps were produced. This led him to study the archives of De La Rue and as a result he decided to concentrate on the Key-Plates. In the late 1990’s David developed a broad exhibit covering the years from 1870 to 1953 of the key-plates but decided to cut back to just the period from 1870 to 1912 (Queen Victoria & Edward VII). In 2000 he started exhibiting, taking the exhibit from a 5 frame to a 10 frame exhibit and winning Vermeil at the National Level in 2005. Current philatelic interests include the Development of the Penny Post in which he is currently working on an exhibit. BWI Lot 2352 Lot 1857x Lot 1900x Lot 1883x Lot 1862
