The Hult (Design) Thinkers!
We all are enjoying our time here, but
there also some issues at Hult, in San
Francisco and even in the world. How
can we go about tackling these problems? Put yourself in other people’s
shoes, practice empathy, think outside
the box … this is Design Thinking.
When we first set up the Design
Thinking Network, we wanted to get
the concept out there.
“When I first heard about Design Thinking, I thought it was about design: so obviously nothing for me. But even though it
has the word design in it, it is about so much
more”- Jeroen S.
Design Thinking, as the second part
of the term already points to, is a new
way of thinking, and the more you repeat it, it almost becomes a way of your
everyday live.
Over the past two Hult-wide workshops, we attempted to tackle the two
main issues we saw at Hult: the fact that
IT is somewhat confusing, and the lack
of a single Hult community.
Don’t be surprised if you see a Hult Game night
or blue prints to the Hult Fun house sometime
soon. So come join us for the next workshop!
The ideas coming out of our IT workshop included an alternative for the My
Confusion, of which one was already
implemented (the new Hult Hot Sheet)
and a new pilot of MyHult, which is being rolled out in MOD C.
Let’s Co-Create!
Introducing the Hult Co-Creation Lab
What is the Co-Creation Lab?
The Co-Creation Lab is a learning and
networking platform that aims to empower innovative business ideas from our students. Thanks to a fast-growing network
of mentors and partner organizations such
as Kiva Zip, Co-creation Nigeria, and the
Hult Prize, the Lab provides support and
advice on how to make an idea a concrete
business opportunity, and at the same time
create social impact. The Co-Creation Lab
started thanks to the collaboration between
the Hult Net Impact Chapter and the Hult
Venture Group. For further information:
www.cocreationlab.org
The Co-Creation Lab boasts 20 teams in
its first edition. We interviewed one of the
participants of this project in order to get
an insight of his experience.
Christian Claus, MSE from Germany
Project’s Name: EarlyBear
Christian wants to create a mobile application which will work as an incentive for
waking up people all over the world. His
main goal is to create a community of people all over the globe that will help each
other to wake up, on a daily basis. Someone
in Asia can wake up someone in America,
creating friendships and sharing stories
and experiences together. Christian believes
that the Co-Creation Lab is a great help for
prospect entrepreneurs to start building up
and making their ideas reality.

The ideas to further the Hult community, including something like a Hult fun “frat” house off
campus, will be pitched to Marty by the week’s
end.
So far , what is your experience as being
part of the Co-Creation Lab? What have
you learned and how has it been helpful?
The Lab gets people going. It empowers
and motivates students to indulge their innovative ideas. I think is great that many
students from different programs come together and support each other’s ideas. It’s a
very good motor for everyone to get motivated and form teams with people from different backgrounds and countries. A lot of
people come to San Francisco because they
want to start their own business and want
to get involved into the start-up entrepreneurial world. Many of the students at Hult
have great ideas and do not know how to
develop them. The Co-Creation Lab builds
a platform where people can help each other and share their experiences.
“The Co-Creation
Lab brings down the
wall of resistance in
the startup scene!”
